Which 6160 Confined Space Training Course do you need?

The level of training refers to the “Risk” of the confined spaces that you'll be working in – see Guidance in the above links for National Classifications if you're not sure or refer to the Risk Assessments for your confined space work spaces.

Working in Medium Risk confined space	Using equipment to enter and work in a medium risk confined space (tripod, winch, gas monitor etc) and Escape Breathing Apparatus	6160-02
Working in High Risk confined space	As above, in a high risk confined space, plus the need to work wearing full Self Contained Breathing Apparatus	6160-03
Entry Controller for work in confined spaces	Previously known colloquially as “Top Man” this course is for the Entry controller who controls the entry and arrangements for confined spaces without entering.	6160-04
Working as Rescue Team member	Working as part of a rescue and recovery team in confined spaces. Note – you’ll need to have achieved the High Risk 6160-03 qualification prior to starting this course.	6160-08
Working as Rescue Team Leader	Directing the activities of a rescue or recovery team in confined spaces. Note – you’ll need to have achieved both the High Risk 6160-03 and Rescue Team 6160-08 qualifications prior to starting this course.	6160-07
